Personal Protection

Loaders, applicators, and other handlers must wear: Long-sleeved shirt and long pants Shoes plus socks Chemical-resistant gloves (barrier laminate, butyl rubber, nitrile rubber, neoprene rubber, natural rubber, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, or Viton) Wear a minimum of a NIOSH-approved particulate filtering facepiece respirator with any N, R, or P filter; OR a NIOSH-approved elastomeric particulate respirator with any N, R, or P filter; OR a NIOSH-approved powered air-purifying respirator with a HE filter. Handlers using the dust collection system must wear: Long-sleeved shirt and long pants Shoes plus socks Chemical-resistant gloves (barrier laminate, butyl rubber, nitrile rubber, neoprene rubber, natural rubber, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, or Viton) – except pilots, groundboom applicators, and airblast applicators Must be provided with, have immediately available, and wear in an emergency such as a broken package, spill, or equipment breakdown: Wear a minimum of a NIOSH-approved particulate filtering facepiece respirator with any N, R, or P filter; OR a NIOSH-approved elastomeric particulate respirator with any N, R, or P filter; OR a NIOSH-approved powered air-purifying respirator with a HE filter.
